Congratulations 2025 NRYS Scholarship Recipients

Each year North Reading Youth Soccer awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors who started their soccer journey in the North Reading Youth Soccer program. This year we are pleased to announce that eight scholarships were awarded.

2025 Janet Connolly O'Neill Commemorative Scholarship:
Belle Lazure, a North Reading High School graduate who will be attending Union College.
Primary soccer position: Outside Back
Favorite moment from soccer: My first time playing on the high school turf during the Fall Kick Off Classic.
Advice for our youngest players: Soccer is truly a team sport. Enjoy every moment with your friends and teammates! 

2025 Janet Connolly O'Neill Commemorative Scholarship:
Jackson Wesley, a North Reading High School graduate who will attend Providence College. 
Primary soccer position: Center back
Favorite moment from soccer: Beating Lynnfield in the Chestnut Cup
Advice for our youngest players: Be the best version of yourself and don’t let others dictate how you play

2025 Peter Sapp Memorial Scholarship:
Marissa Montana, a North Reading High School graduate who will attend and continue playing soccer at Saint Leo University.
Primary soccer position: Defense
Favorite moment from soccer: One of my favorite moments from soccer has been playing alongside the same incredible teammates over the years. Having them by my side made every moment more meaningful, and together we pushed each other to many successes, from OT game-winners to winning a national championship.
Advice for our youngest players: Being small doesn’t mean you can’t make a big impact. Heart, effort, and determination matter more than size. Enjoy every moment of the game because these are the memories you’ll carry with you forever.

2025 Peter Sapp Memorial Scholarship:
Finn Rodger, a North Reading High School graduate who will attend Fairfield University. 
Primary soccer position: Center Midfield
Favorite moment from soccer: I have two, winning Pingree and making it to the semi-finals of MTOC1 with the Scorpions in 6th grade and having an undefeated regular season and being CAL Champions my senior year.

NRYS President Scholarship:
Cam Parrett, a North Reading High School graduate who will attend Utah State University.
Primary soccer position: Goalkeeper
Favorite moment from soccer: Going to the MTOC state tournament in youth soccer 
Advice for our youngest players: Be where your feet are. (Stay present and don’t think about what’s in front or behind. Think about where you are now) 

NRYS Board of Directors Scholarship:
Macy Macy Kurchian, a North Reading High School graduate who will be attending College of the Holy Cross
Primary Position: Goalkeeper 
Favorite moment from soccer: Winning the Cape Ann League Championship.

NRYS Board of Directors Scholarship:
Julia Scammon, a North Reading High School graduate who will attend Seton Hall University.
Primary soccer position: Center Attacking Midfield 
Favorite Memory: Playing in the Fall Kick Off Classic

NRYS Board of Directors Scholarship:
Connor Gattuso, a North Reading High School graduate who will attend Babson College. 
Primary soccer position: Fullback
Favorite moment from soccer: Contributing in a Playoff game that Advanced the team to the Elite 8
Advice for our youngest players:  Keep working hard and the results will come
